Hi,
I'm new to the Linux world (I just installed LinuxPPC 1999 on my PM7500) and I'm curious about the future plans for the different distros.
As I understand it, application binaries will run on either LinuxPPC or MkLinux, but ideally I would like to run Mach with OS X and MkLinux. Not necessarily simultaneously, but I'd like to be able to switch without rebooting.
I also like some of the features of LinuxPPC, and was wondering if there were any plans to merge source trees between MkLinux and LinuxPPC above the kernel level.
Of course, I'm assuming that MkLinux will eventually be able to run on the same microkernel that OS X uses...
Could anyone enlighten me? I'd appreciate it!
Thanks,
- Nick
