In response to the freezing G3 266. It sounds like an extension conflict maybe. I would suggest that you unplug SCSI from the computer, and start with ONLY the base set of extensions. I have a 300 G3 beige, and i put Linux on a seperate HD, but i installed a FRESH OS on that HD. 8.1 i believe. So you might want to disable all extensions except OS BASE set and see if that works. Then after you install MK try all your extensions again. If you still have the problem then its time to troubleshoot.
