: : : : Hi Everyone, Please help me fix this crap,I get an error NTLDR is Missing, Press any key to restart, The freaking crap wont boot, PLEASE HELP!!!!! :'(
Gentlemen, please, your language!
Presumably, you're not in Iraq, serving freedom and democracy?
I have discovered that by putting the files from Win2k: "ntdetect.com", "ntldr", and "boot.ini" onto a floppy, then I could not boot although the oracle had said so.
But then I read on the Web that the "boot.ini" must have the following code:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multu(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\winnt
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft windows 2000 Professional" /fastdedect
and then I could boot from that diskette. Before there were two further lines of code, namely:
[operating system]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft windows 2000 Professional (#1),
these two lines were superfluous for booting into Windows 2k. I have no idea of where they come from.
Formerly when I got this ***** message I had to either use the four so-called boot floppies or the Installation CD, but this takes one through the whole installation process, just go get that boot loader executed. I have no idea of who ought to be executed for making things so squalid, but this is what one must contend with in the ridiculous world of Windows, untill one throws it out the Windows and installs Linux.
