You will need a newer GENERIC kernel to support the floppy at all. Please check at mklinux.org for information about upgrading kernels. I believe it is under system management on the front page, not sure though. The newer kernels received some needed help as far as floppy right before Gilbert left Apple to work at Montavista.
: What version of netscape is recomended?
Netscape is dependent upon the version of MkLinux running. DR3 should be using 4.6 and R1 should be using Mozilla (5.0). Please check netscape.com for 4.6 and linuxppc.org for 5.0.
