I have set up the relevant configuration files as per the printing HOWTO I found on "Linux on PowerPC FAQ-o-matic." lpr will do just fine except if the file is of any substantial length, then the printer's buffer gets overloaded and the printer prinds a message "Datacomm buffer overrun - no DTR handshaking."
Obviously the serial handshaking is not going on correctly between the computer and the printer. I have set up the serial port with crtscts handshaking according to the HOWTO directions, but lpd and the tty interface evidently keep sending data to the printer anyway. Anybody know what's
