MkLinux booting problem

Trying to get MkLinux running on a PowerMac 6500/275 with a 603ev processor (64MB RAM); got the disk partitioned; edited the MkLinux lilo.conf to point to rootdev=/dev/hda6, which is correct according t pdisk.

However, when I reboot after installing all packages, the system complains about "BAD SIGNATURE" and multiple occurrences of "5 partition is ZERO sized (20001)" followed by "Error: Bootstrap task cannot find configuration file, please make sure that your boot device is correctly specified".

It seems it always complains about the partition number one less (5) than where my Apple_UNIX_SVR2 partition exists (6) and I never reach the login prompt (sigh).

Read about a so-called "Zip trick", but cannot make much of it, unfortunately.

Any ideas, anything?

Thanks,
Jens
