Actually the Newer Technology cards work correctly in machines for mklinux. It is necessary to enable the G3 card before the mklinux booter which is just a reorder of the extensions in MacOS. There is many people on mklinux-setup that have this exact configuration. You can probably find lots of advice on the lists if you ask.
